Welcome to Damron Law. I'm Jordan Damron, and I'm excited to launch this space where I'll share practical legal insights, business guidance, and strategies to help you navigate the complex intersection of law, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Whether you're a startup founder, established business owner, real estate investor, or creative professional, this blog is designed to give you actionable information about the legal issues that matter most to your success.
About Damron Law PLLC
Damron Law PLLC is a Charleston, West Virginia-based law firm serving clients throughout West Virginia and nationwide. We focus on providing sophisticated legal services with a practical, business-minded approach.
I founded Damron Law after spending seven years as Legal Counsel and Communications Director to West Virginia Governor Jim Justice (2017-2024), followed by experience at a boutique litigation firm representing Fortune 500 companies. This unique background—combining high-level government work, corporate litigation, and entrepreneurial experience—gives me a comprehensive perspective on the challenges businesses face.
Today, I work with clients ranging from solo entrepreneurs to established companies, helping them navigate complex legal matters with clarity and confidence.
Our Practice Areas
From entity formation and operating agreements to contract negotiations and commercial disputes, I help businesses establish strong legal foundations and protect their interests as they grow. Whether you're launching your first LLC or negotiating a major partnership agreement, I provide strategic counsel tailored to your goals.
Your ideas, brands, and creative work are valuable assets. I assist with trademark protection, copyright matters, licensing agreements, and trade secret protection to ensure your intellectual property remains secure and enforceable.
Government Relations and Communications Strategy
With seven years of experience as Chief Legal Counsel and Communications Director to West Virginia Governor Jim Justice, I provide strategic government relations and communications counsel that few private practitioners can match. I help businesses navigate regulatory processes, develop relationships with state and local officials, craft effective public affairs strategies, and manage sensitive communications during high-stakes situations. Whether you're seeking state contracts, facing regulatory challenges, responding to government investigations, or need crisis communications support, I bring insider knowledge of how government works combined with practical messaging expertise. My experience includes legislative advocacy, agency relations, public records matters, and media strategy for businesses operating in regulated industries or seeking to influence policy outcomes.
Real estate transactions require precision and attention to detail. I handle commercial and residential closings, purchase and sale agreements, lease negotiations, title issues, and property disputes throughout West Virginia.
With West Virginia's rich energy heritage, I represent clients in oil and gas matters, mineral rights negotiations, surface use agreements, and energy-related contract disputes. I understand the unique legal landscape of Appalachian energy development.
Protecting your legacy requires thoughtful planning. I draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and comprehensive estate plans that reflect your wishes and minimize tax burdens for your beneficiaries.
AI and Emerging Technology Law
As artificial intelligence and new technologies reshape business, legal frameworks must evolve. I help companies draft AI contracts, navigate data privacy requirements, address algorithmic bias concerns, and prepare for emerging regulations in the technology space.
Why Choose Damron Law?
Government Experience Meets Private Practice
My seven years in the Governor's Office gave me unique insight into regulatory processes, government relations, and high-stakes decision-making. I understand how policy affects business and how to navigate complex regulatory environments.
Business Owner Perspective
I'm not just a lawyer—I'm a business owner myself. Through my AV production company, Damron Productions LLC, I experience firsthand the challenges entrepreneurs face. This perspective informs how I counsel clients, focusing on practical solutions that make business sense, not just legal sense.
Technology-Forward Practice
I embrace technology to deliver efficient, modern legal services. From secure electronic document signing to leveraging AI tools for legal research, I use innovation to provide better value and faster turnaround times for clients.
Accessible and Responsive
Big firm expertise doesn't have to come with big firm bureaucracy. As a solo practitioner, I'm personally invested in your success. You work directly with me, not anyone else, and I'm committed to responding promptly to your needs.
Fixed-Fee and Transparent Pricing Options
Legal fees shouldn't be a mystery. Whenever possible, I offer fixed-fee arrangements so you know exactly what to expect. For matters requiring hourly billing, I provide clear estimates and regular updates.
